Chief Inspector Endeavor Morse was the creation of writer Colin Dexter. Dexter’s beer swilling, crossword solving, opera loving police officer with a mind for solving a series of grisly murders which takes place in his home area of Oxford.
Morse has appeared in thirteen books from The Last Bus to Woodstock to his final case the Remorseful Day.

Morse’s Irascible yet inspiring behaviour in the Oxford CID meant that not many other officers wanted to work with him nor he had many friends. The only officer he was close with was a quiet Family man called Sergeant Lewis, who’s down to earth, no nonsense approach to problems offsets Morse’s wandering brain. This made them a perfect crime solving partner-ship.

Chief Inspector Morse was also brought to TV with the late John Thaw playing the grumpy police officer and Kevin Whatley
Playing his long suffering partner Sergeant Lewis. I have always been a fan of Colin Dexter and I love watching the Tv series.
Morse is my one of my faveroite Police Detectives next to Inspector Frost.
