THE BAKEWELL PUDDING SHOP
TODAY WE WENT TO THE BAKE WELL PUDDING SHOP,
WE CAUGHT THE HULLEY'S NUMBER 170 BUS FROM OUTSIDE
GAMELEA COUNTRYSIDE TRAINING TRUST, AT 10 30AM, AND
THE BUS WAS ON TIME .THE BUS DRIVER DROPPED US OFF
IN THE TOWN CENTRE.
THEN WE WENT FIRST TO THE CORNER BOOKSHOP
AND WE LOOKED AT THE DVD'S AND COMPUTER GAMES
WE HAD A LOOK ROUND THE TOURIST INFORMATION CENTRE
AND GOT BROCHURES ABOUT OTHER PLACES OF INTEREST.
WE WENT TO TOP UP A MOBILE PHONE WITH CREDIT TO THE
ORANGE 24/7 SHOP AND THE MAN IN THE SHOP WAS VERY NICE
IN THE SHOP THEY ALSO SOLD DVD'S AND COMPUTER GAMES,
AND OF COURSE TELEPHONES, WE LOOKED AT THESE AND
FOUND THEM VERY INTERESTING.
WE THEN WENT TO THE LUXURY BELGIAN CHOCOLATE SHOP
“CAROUSELS” WHERE EMMA WAS IN HEAVEN. THE STAFF
WERE VERY HELPFUL IN EXPLAINING ALL THE DIFFERENT
CHOCOLATES. EMMA BOUGHT A MIX OF LUXURY CHOCOLATES
WHITCH WERE BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED ANDWRAPPED IN RIBBON.
THEN WE WENT TO THE BAKEWELL FISH AND CHIP SHOP
AND EMMA HAD CORNISH PASTY AND CHIPS WHICH COST
£2.15 EMMA THOUGHT THERE WAS LOTS AND WAS GOOD VALUE.
JEAN BOUGHT A BAG OF CHIPS WHICH COST 80P” AND KARL
BOUGHT BATTRED SAUSAGE AND CHIPS WHICH COST £1.65.
WE TOOK OUR FOOD TO EAT BESIDE THE RIVER DERWENT”
AND WE GOT ATTACKED BY THE SEAGULLS WHO ALSO
WANTED TO EAT OUR FOOD! EMMA TOLD THEM TO GO AWAY
AFTER THAT WE MADE OUR WAY OVER TO THE BAKEWELL
PUDDING SHOP. THE FIRST THING WE NOTICED WAS THE
LOVELY SMELL, AND WE LIKED LOOKING AT THE FRESH
BREAD IN THE SHOP. THE STAFF MADE US FEEL VERY WELCOME.
WE COULD ALL READTHE SIGNS VERY WELL AND WE CAULD
SEE THAT WE HAD TO GO UPSTAIRS TO THE RESTAURANT
TO GET SOME FOOD, AS THERE WAS A GOLDEN HAND
PICTURE POINTING THE WAY. WHEN WE GOT UPSTAIRS THE
WAITRESS ASKED US WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO EAT AND
WE HAD TEAS AND COFFEE AND ONE BIG BAKEWELL PUDDING
WHICHWE SHARED BETWEEN US. WE HADA TOPPING OF FRESH
CREAM AND CUSTARD WHICHWE ALL ENJOYED VERY MUCH.
THE STAFF MADE A SPECIAL POINT ABOUT THE HANDRAIL
WHICH WAS VERY STURDY HAD TO HOLD ONTO THIS
AS WE WENT UPSTAIRS AND DOWNSTAIRS. WE ALL USED
THE TOILETS FACILITIES WHICH WE ALL THOUGHT WERE VERY
CLEAN AND SMART AND WE ALL AGREED THAT THE SERVICE
WE RECEIVED WAS EXCELLENT.
WE SPOKE TO PAULINE WHO IS RESTAURANT MANAGERESS
AT THE BAKEWELL PUDDING SHOP AND SHE WAS VERY
FRIENDLY AND POLITE AND REALLY MADE US FELL
WELLCOME. SHE APOLOGISED FOR NOT HAVING
A LIFT, BUT AS THIS IS A LISTED BUILDING THEY
ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS
WE WOULD ALL RECOMMEND COMING TO THE BAKEWELL
PUDDING SHOP ANDWILL TELL ALL OUR FRIENDS AND
FAMILY ABOUT OUR LOVELY DAY IN BAKEWELL.
